Is it me or when ever I read the "Test Icicles" i see Testicles!...but bands rip off each other all the time without the incessant ripping then new music wouldn't come around !

- Austopop (only EAV´s early stuff was good) - Reinhard Fendrich, Edelweiß, etc
- German singing "Rock" Bands - Silbermond, Juli, Wir sind Helden, Madsen, etc.
- Schlager, Volksmusik - Ursprung Buam, Wildecker Herzbuben, Klostertaler, etc.

Some other bands I can´t stand:
- U2 - so boring

- Red Hot Chili Peppers - though they seem quite sympathic in interviews there songs are boring

- Metallica - they haven´t released a good album for more than 15years and they seem so arrogant. Has anybody seen the show, I think it was MTY Icons, were they got named as the best rock band never - in my opinion they aren´t even the best speed-/trash-metal band ever (that´s Slayer!!!)

- well I don´t hate Nirvana (I think they were good but not the greatest band ever), but I hate the whole hype. Like EVERY year on Cobain´s dying day there are specials on MTV (MTV Masters, Unplugged, Rockzone), while there are dozends of great musicians (Bon Scott, Johnny Thunders, Jimi Hendrix, Phil Lynott, Cliff Burton, Marc Bolan etc) whom they NEVER commemorate.

- My Chemical Romance - I can´t watch Gerard Way when he´s singing and there songs are sooo cheesy, but my younger sister think´s Gerard is sexy!

- Nickelback, Reamon, Creed, etc. - and other soporific stuff like that

there are alot of bands out there who have enough money, i don't mind them earning any more by making music, just as long as its not released, or if theres no hype/airplay whatsoever, finished, sorry!!

Wow, good to be around people who detest the same popular bands I do. The ones that piss me off include:

Kaiser Chiefs - "Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby, Do ya Do ya Do ya Do ya"... Wow that must have took a lot of imagination Ricky :/

Snow Patrol - First three albums were promising but with the fourth effort I gave up on them in a flash. Gary Lighbody admitted in the press that he is a terrible songwriter and the fourth album confirmed it. If i've ever heard a blatant attempt at jumping on the commercial bandwagon this is it. Full of sentimental lovey-dovey nonsense which we've all heard before, the likes of which James Blunt would be proud.

Coldplay - Again I loved the first two albums but after releasing the utter guff that is X&Y I just gave up. Almost a year since it's release and they are already forgotten about. This album disappeared like a fart in a hurricane when the masses realised they'd been badly mugged by the hype. Wtf is up with that video of that old granny dancing semi-naked in the harbour anyway?

Travis - Oh god, are they still around? I thought they floated off like driftwood years ago.

Jet - The most overhyped indie band ever. The fact that these are popular in the hate stakes doesn't surprise me. The only reason they became successful was because much of today's generation of music listeners are too young to notice blatant ripping off of 60's and 70's bands.

As for NME, that magazine has become the musical equivillant of Bunty. I used to enjoy reading it when it was an intelligent magazine but now it's like some teenage hype rag. They also go out of the way to praise the bands that are on the Rough Trade Label, which incidentally is partly owned by NME.

by third album to you mean final straw or eyes open?

i liked their first 3 (song for polar bears, when its all over we still have to clear up and final straw) but thought the last one was complete and utter bull

Yeah I agree with the Test Icicles comparison. That's what sort of attracted me to them in the first place.

Test Icicles were a crazy mash up of influences. But like every band they still have their influences (well, obviously) check out the Blood Brothers and you can easily pick out similarities I reckon.

i absolutely adore that video! i want to make music videos 'when i grow up' ....i guess i shouldn’t now.... but that video is soo pretty, the lighting is awesome an the simplicity of the reverse mo with the ribbon is beautiful!! why does everyone hate the neon lights so much?? its pretty much the same thing as the bott cover, but a neon instead of a normal bulb.... saying the klaxons cashed in on test icicles is like saying the kings cashed in on the strokes.... which maybe you think happened aswell but i dont see it that way

also i do not understand how anyone can say they hate all emo (what exactly do you think emo is by the way?) or hip hop/ rnb stuff ...its like disliking a carrot an saying you hate all vegetables - people are way to quick to pigeon hole stuff an it really gets my goat!
