What in the world happened tonight? Is Caleb ok and will they finish this tour? #worriedsick

Me too- seems to be the usual overhyped criticism in the press but little explanation other than Nathan/Jared's tweets. Would be nice to know if Caleb is okay at least.

cant believe how gutted i would be if this had happened to me.. caleb's got a drinking problem, we cant deny that, he seems completely wasted in the vids of last night on youtube. jared's tweet says it all "internal sicknesses and problems" combine this with people who were there saying he was taking shot after shot of tequila. Im sure the heat exacerbated this but he needs to realise quickly that they are the biggest band in the world and this kinda thing cannot regularly happen as too many people are dependent on them performing Big props to matt and jared though, that apology took a lot of guts something I doubt i could do. Was Nathan badly affected by the heat too? In his tweet he says the heat got the best of a few of us, I wonder if this is just trying to take the blame off solely Caleb's shoulders as Jared and Matts apology contradicted this ("blame caleb")
Sorry for going on for so long but I'm trying to get to the bottom of this. hope this illness doesn't run into the rest of the tour for the sake of the US fans whom i'm gutted for at the minute

Agree- he definitely has. I thought getting wed and looking forward to possibly starting a family might cause him to start calming down, but I'm not sure he is able by the looks of things. The trouble is, the rock and roll lifestyle is part and parcel of the appeal of this band, a lot of folk complain if something like this happens but then applaud their antics on other occasions. I personally would love to see Caleb sort himself out, he's such a talented artist and the worry is how long he can continue to be so when pushing himself physically to this kind of extreme. I don't think it's rock and roll to risk your life with substance abuse, and to me that also includes alcohol. Let's hope he figures that out sooner rather than later.

OR is could be just Dallas, where it was 108 degrees, as well as dehydration and loss of voice, and nothing more sinister. I've seen him semi-pass out at concerts before, so nothing new.

I've never experienced Dallas heat so I cant say much on that. still worried though, could wreck his talent with his constant drinking, i mean in virtually every single interview he has a beer or wine or something in his hand and that constitutes a problem even if it is just the rock and roll lifestyle! maybe im over-reacting after the whole amy winehouse thing and the years of continuous touring are to blame either way im worried

This is terrible news! I can't wait until more comes out about it. In orange beach caleb said "They keep telling me to drink a lot of water, but i'm going to drink tequila instead" and he took shot after shot. I thought it was funny then, but after this I don't know I hope he's ok.

jared's admitted that there are "bigger problems" in the band, which is gutting but its also good maybe they can deal with them. think this episode has made me love them more though which is strange, they have been so sincere in their apologies. shows what genuinely nice dudes they are! guess they all have the usual flaws that seem to accompany such genius haha

You make some good points, James. Apparently BettyAnn's tweeted that Caleb is okay. However, I always find the word 'okay' to be able to mean that things are only so & so but that it's still better than utter crap.

Hope everything gets better. Looks like its time for mr singer to put down the beer and wine for good. At lest at shows.
Heat and drink is not a good combo.

I think there are deep-seated issues behind all this, whether it's alcohol abuse or not. Whatever it is, I just want Caleb to get well and for the band to be happy and 100% healthy for touring again.
I have so much respect for Jared and Matt for apologising to the crowd and the fact that their disappointment was so clear, and nothing but contempt for those who threw shit at them and those who sent rude tweets. I totally get that people were disappointed and pissed, that's understandable, but they explained and they did what was best at the time. Would the crowd have rathered that Caleb passed out on stage first?
I think it takes a lot more than this to shake most KoL fans' love for the band.

So true! We traveled 5 hours and made it to Dallas just in time for the show. I had been looking forward to this concert for a long time but in the end, it was concern, not disappointment that I felt. We were at the very front, between Caleb and Jared and more than once Caleb mentioned not feeling well and when he came over and propped up his foot on a speaker and leaned down to rest on his leg, I was worried he was going to fall.
My 17-year old daughter had just left the pit feeling like she was going to pass out and I saw the same look on Caleb's face as Anna's. The heat was crazy intense. How insane to play outside in that weather. People were dropping all around me. That kind of heat can kill.
I was outraged by the "fans" who booed and threw things. But there will always be the people who show up for concerts just to party and have no concern for the people standing around them or the artists.
Obviously all the boys are extremely, to use Nathan's words, "ashamed and embarassed". I'm just so thankful that Caleb was able to leave the stage before he collapsed, which I think was near. And I will continue to pray for his complete and speedy recovery.
My friends and family spent a lot of money to travel to this show but none of that is important. All that matters is that this band, that we all love so much rise from this better and stronger than ever!

Damn, just heard them perform "Fans" at this show, Caleb sounded AWFUL!
Too much to drink and extreme heat were the obvious reasons, he must of felt like he was gonna pass out up there so had to get off stage. Glad he did, imagine the panick if he did stay up there and collapsed in front of all those people and cameras?

can understand the decision to stop the concert, caleb sounded really tired regardless of what the reasons were. in the video of notion his voice is totally gone and hes hitting bum notes on the guitar. to all the people there it must have been blatantly obvious something was wrong. I mean they are one of the most polished and tight bands in the world, never do they make a single mistake. Its quite shocking to see caleb in such a state, get well soon mate! heres the videos of some songs, including notion: www.youtube.com/user/maverick19958

You guys may already know this but I just came upon this website: www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2020986/Kings-Leon-vow-redo-Texas-gigs-bailing-hot.html?ito=feeds-newsxmlIt says that they rescheduled Dallas for September 21st and will reschedule the Houston show as well. It also says that Caleb's vocal chords "seized." I'm a little behind on all of the gossip of today/tonight since I had to go to work but I hear there was a tweet about an announcement that got deleted? Perhaps this was the announcement? No clue. Anyway, at least if they're rescheduling and stuff it means that they aren't breaking up. Not that I really thought they would but of course it was in my mind since it would be one of the worst things to happen to me ever. I believe they have a lot left in them though.
