What song was it that sparked the love?
For me it was near the end of 2003 and the song was Red Morning Light.

For me it was sometime 2007 and I'd been listening ONLY to Red Hot Chili Peppers and completely overdone it :-( then the guy my boyfriend was getting a lift to work with was listening to BOTT in his car every morning and my boyfriend kept singing the songs to me. I had to then check it out properly (knew the Bucket and Molly's from alternative compilation albums) and completely fell head over heels for the music and the band. Can't say which song did it for me, but I recall listening to Trani and On Call on repeat!!

For me it was 2008 and the release of OBTN, I 'heard' Sex on fire first, even though technically speaking my first 'glimpse' of KOL was an interview with Jared and Nathan with Zane lowe in the Maida vale studios. But Knocked up is THE song that got me into them, to this day it still is my favourite song of theirs, then I listened to the whole back catalogue, got hooked and Because of the times is the first album I got, quickly followed by the rest.

I heard Milk in 2005 when I was co-hosting a community radio show. My friend played it, and I loved Caleb's voice. It took me a while to really delve into their music though. A couple of years ago, I was making that same friend a mix CD, and remembered KOL. I ended up buying YAYM and fell in love.

for me it was Fans, and its weird cus i already had the first two album for a long time but never listened to them properly, i just thought there were OK, and that was it. But it was when i first listened to fans that i started paying more attention to the rest of the albums

My first song was SOF, but when I heard Black Thumbnail I fell in love with the song and the band.

On Call was the first song I fell in love with, not when it was first released, it was earlyish 2008 I think, not many months before OBTN came out. I looked it (On Call) up on You Tube not knowing who it was by and when I saw it was by KOL I remembered I'd heard (and liked) California Waiting and Four Kicks before. After hearing Knocked Up Ragoo and Fans and loving them I bought BOTT, then ASH then OBTN and finally YAYM. I discovered them fairly late on but they have a life long fan in me.

Sex on Fire. Yep. I was a late bloomer in the KOL game...discovered them through SNL in 2008. Went and bought their entire catalog over the next couple days, fell in love. The rest is history Just went back through my iTunes to figure out which songs I bought first. After SOF and Use Somebody I bought 1. Four Kicks, 2. King of the Rodeo, 3. Manhattan, 4. Ragoo, 5. Be Somebody. I don't know why but I think it's interesting.

I heard The Bucket and Charmer in 2007, and I liked the songs. My sister had always listened to KOL and I liked what I heard.. but I really didn't become to "love" the band till late 08/09. I guess my love grew gradually. I really don't know what song sparked my love. :/ that's just my story.

Late bloomer here, too. My friend who works at a record store always listens to all the new releases in the store and when he put on OBTN for the first time he immediately thought of me because he was sure I'd love that record. He brought me the album the same day and I've been a huge fan ever since.

I've liked their songs from the start but never really looked into them till early last year after I'd fallen in love with Use Somebody. Not sure which year to pick in the poll this way.

On Call, but, like DeeDee, not when it was first out. I liked it, but didn't pay it much attention. Then I heard and liked a couple off OBTN, watched a 'Fallout Boy vs. Kings of Leon' thing on TV last year out of boredom and fell in love with On Call for real this time. Looked up their whole back catalogue. The rest is history

For me it was 2008, OBTN was out but I hadn't even heard it, a friend mentioned them to me so I looked them up on itunes and I liked the BOTT cover the most so I clicked on that album. I previewed fans and then bought the entire album on impulse and then went crazy and saw them like 6 months later. Even when I saw them I was still a casual fan but the live performance did it for me and I've been obsessed ever since

2007 for me! I think the first song I heard was either Fans or Ragoo, or at least those were my original favorites. I didn't get obsessed until 2008 however. I found out they had a new album coming out (OBTN) and it reminded me that I had been meaning to go back and listen to their older stuff, i.e. YAYM & ASH. So I did, and the rest is history
