"koldrums'- For me, you are right on, Calebs verses are slower than the live version. That was the first thing I picked up on and thought "hmm I don't know how I feel about that." The video for me was cheesy yes but I still enjoyed it. I agree with most of you that I wish we could have seen more Matt and Nate in the video. I am a Caleb girl too but when Matt finally came in the shot I was like "awww there he is, I wanna see more of him". I am not totally disappointed in this version of the song vs. the live version because well KOL are just amazing live but I do miss the rawness of Calebs voice when hearing Radioactive live. I would say it sounds a little overproduced and with some singers I am sure you have to do that but the magic in Caleb's voice gets taken away when the vocals are overproduced. He sounds amazing raw and gritty and there is just no need to change or try to enhance his voice in any way because in my opinion he just doesn't need it. It is almost like Radioactive live is a very girtty amazing rock song and Radioactive album version is more of a pop song. I hope that all makes sense.

the video is ok, and so is the the song. Ive never liked their videos, actually i think they dont have REALLY good ones, if i were a girl i would probably like them just because i can see the boys, but im not haha
the song is good, but to be honest i dont like most of Matts parts, its sounds like taken from a videogame, reminds me some Strokes songs too

What I love was the natural-ness of it all. Everyone seemed so comfortable. Yep. The reason why I don't find it cheesy. If it had all been forced and awkward, then yeah. But it looked liked they were genuinely enjoying themselves.

if i hear the word cheesy one more god forsaken time....
look the idea for the video was get together a young choir have them hang out with the dudes for a day and tape what happens. sure some parts were rehearsed, but from what the guys said, they had a great time that day. just quit watching it if its so cheesy to you

First off, the song is absolutely incredible. The production does it justice and man, they were serious about "beaching out" on this album. If the first single is this daring, the record is gonna flirt with greatness. Nathan's vocals just kill it for me, I mean honestly if Caleb and Nathan decided to make a country duet album after this, I would fucking buy it.
The video is OK, but honestly in 3 weeks who is gonna give a shit anyway? What I think they were trying to do with it is to depict themselves AS children. Jared's flying a kite, Caleb's running in a field, they are seeing themselves as kids again for 3 minutes. And whoever brought up the "It's in the water!" thing, you might be on to something haha. First time I did shrooms I felt like a small child. So there's that too.

er, not really? ^ edit: sorry, that was directed at helene. i'm not really sure i understand what she meant. i agree with brit. their videos have never been that great. but it does look like they're having a good time, and yeah, they are nice to look at. i don't know. i guess i just didn't expect a masterpiece of a video. i'm more excited about the song.

I meant, every body seems to agree that even though the video seems a bit cheesy, we all seem to agree that its a great song and a nice vid too, whatever 'mixed feelings' we may have, well I think I gathered that. Gosh, I dont even understand myself, I hope someone of you will lol

^ That's not what I gathered at all. Most people, from what I understand, don't like the video. Period.

To me, the video doesn't even matter that much, it's the song I care about. I see videos more as vehicles to gain new fans, so I don't let them affect my opinion on what actually matters.

I think there's been more negative than positive comments too, but each to their own of course. I think, (and this is just my opinion, I dont expect anyone to agree) that this video shows just how much they are moving on/growing up/maturing. Not only from the YAYM ASH and BOTT days, but from OBTN too. All bands, when they've been around as long as KOL have and have released that many albums have to try something different. If they dont at least experiment, they can become boring, but I guess they're not going to please everyone with what they try. Different strokes for different folks and all that. I agree that there is a bit of cheese there, but for me, it's extra mature chedder. I love it!

My thoughts exactly. I don't think people are very comfortable with KOL doing something completely out of the box and unexpected. There is so much evidence that they're growing and becoming more comfortable and that in turn makes me more comfortable with them. When they're truly happy with what they're creating, it shows. I'm excited to watch them change and see where they take things.

I liked it I guess... I mean I didn't love it but I can see where the concept came from and yes it was cute, but... I dunno, it just didn't feel as strong as I thought it would (Still loving Caleb in the necktie though ) P.S. it kinda reminded me of Manhatten a little bit or is that just me?

I'm relieved to see many people saying the same things I wanted to say. Not enough Matt, too much of that Lifetime movie feel, but the song rocks!! And I totally prefer the version with the choir, it's different, and come on, we hear Caleb enough, can someone else get the mic for 2 minutes? And Texas, I'd buy any album Nathan wants to sing on!! Even if it was country!

Finally watched the entire vid and while it is heavy on the queso, they do genuinely look like they are having a good time. I much prefer the live version of the song, but the Followills were certainly nice to look at in the vid. 'Four Kicks' and 'Charmer' still remain my fave vids and nothing can touch the rawness of those gems! Oh and there's no chicken with honey mustard packets in that lake, Matt I keed I keed, of course.

This. Charmer is still the coolest video ever. I still can't get over how good of a song Radioactive is though.

Ok so after watching the video several more times during the day I have to say it has grown on me. After looking at all the guys genuinely smiling and enjoying themselves I guess I have to say what is not to like? While I get the concept of the video (and I still think its a little cheesy) in the context of the song it does fit but beyond that just to see the boys smiling and seeming quite relaxed is enough for me! Radioactive as a song is amazing in my opinion, I like it now, and I liked it hearing it live twice. Gosh I am just really digging the "woooo hooo wooooo's" that they added to this version!!
