Has anyone read The Passage yet? I bought it yesterday and it's the size of a small house, but I'm looking forward to reading it. Also bought the rest of the Vampire Chronicles that I was missing

I had a dream the other night about Louis and Lestat(nothing sexy! It was pretty weird actually. Lestat was being tortured, which i don't think is even possible considering his strength and powers!). It solidified my thoughts that i have been away from them for too long and so i've started re-reading Memnoch! I bought The Vampire Armand and Merrick but haven't read them yet. Now i feel like i need to re-read Memnoch before moving onto Armand. It was pretty deep and i need to refresh my memory- have to say it wasn't one of my favourites of the series though. Lestat did too much crying for my liking! Kate Atkinson, Isabelle Allende, Jasper Fforde, David Mitchell (not the comedian TV guy ) and Ian McEwen are all amazing. I love Ian McEwan! Which ones have you read? So far i've only read On Chesil Beach, Black Dogs and Enduring Love. I think Black Dogs was my favourite. I've got Atonement, Saturday and Amsterdam all waiting to be read!

I've stopped reading Wuthering Heights for the time being as I got Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows out from the library and need to get it back on time so I'll go back to WH soon.
So far I'm enjoying the HP book, though I'm finding it a bit annoying to read the same remark about Harry's burning scar over and over again.

^ Is it the first time you've read it? I get wierdly excited when people read HP for the first time, I have this constant need to know whether or not they like it kim: I've only actually read Enduring Love and Atonement but I loved them both - Enduring Love was so wonderfully disturbing I need to get the rest I've just started The English Patient, I'm really enjoying it

Yeah i'm like that too Jess. I was constantly interrogating my brother when he started reading them, he'd be going "I haven't read any since you asked me half an hour ago Kim!!!" Did you see the movie of Enduring Love? i thought it was really good- quite a bit different to the book but Rhys Ifans was class as Jed.

It is Jess I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. I must say, I think they get most of the characters spot on in the films, particularly Ron and Hermione.

I finished Deathly Hallows and I really enjoyed it I was so into it by the end. Today I just sat down and resolved that I WOULD finish it today, no matter what, haha. I hardly moved for about 7 hours. Long and short of it, I finally get what the fuss is about and I'm eager to get the set so I can start from the beginning, even though I already know the basic plotlines from the movies.

Yay, I am glad you liked Harry and his friends Ali When I read HP I didn't like the fifth book and decided not to read it anymore until after 3 years I saw Sweeney Todd and then I bought HBP and DH and swallowed them both in three days

What style do you like MissD? Today i read the first Scott Pilgrim book. It took all of about 20 minutes but was very entertaining. I'm still re-reading Memnoch too but i should get to read the next 5 Scott books pretty easily at the same time. I can't wait for the DVD to be released.

Kazuo Ishiguro's books. Never Let Me Go was brilliant. I'd have to put it up there with my top ones. And now i'm reading When We Were Orphans which, so far, is very interesting and well written.

Right now I'm reading "A Conferderacy of Dunces" by J.K. Toole. I love it so much! There is a book called "Money" by Martin Amis which is really good as well. You see I love those sociocrital books that are a bit cynical, sartirical and funny.
