Ticboo, have you ever seen pictures of the venue? I mean the pictures don't really even begin to show how amazing it is but still. I guess it's so great because it's such a natural setting; you're completely surrounded by natural rock formations...it's just really different than most outdoor venues. Sav, I've seen a few of the photos now! Looks beautiful and I can imagine it would be amazing. Makes me want to go. (I used to climb rock similar to that, inbetween the bouts of horizontal rain we get. I bet it's stunning and dry!) The denver.metromix.com review was a bit disquieting, especially as you had a feeling 'something was a little bit off'. Well the Kings have limitations. Maybe it's time for them to take risks. What do I know.

Oh yeah, I forgot, at one point Caleb kind of hurried off stage for a few minutes. As he walked back on he was wiping his mouth, so I'm assuming he threw up. At the time I thought he was just doing something with the sound, didn't pay much attention.

The Red Rocks show was amazing. I'm not sure what the reviewer at denvermetromix was talking about. Kings of Leon were spot on tight for this show. Played a great set - although similar to their previous shows. it would be nice to see them mix it up a little more. Caleb was really enthusiastic for this show and I personally think they were thrilled to be headlining a sold-out Red Rocks. I've seen 9 shows now - all small venues and this was the most talkative I'd seen Caleb. The crowd was really amazing too. I'm not a fan of SoF, but this crowd loved it and sang loudly. Molly's Chamber just foooking rocked. It played well at RR. I would have killed for Trani at Red Rocks and felt it was deserving for that venue. Their sound board seemed to miss out occasionally or at least fluctuate randomly. For those of you who have never been to Red Rocks, it's a natural rock formed amphitheater. The red rocks are illuminated for the show as it ascends up the seating area. From the seating area as you look down on the stage, the city of Denver sits just behind and all the city lights can be seen. For the Kings' show, there was a pretty good thunderstorm that just blew past Red Rocks and nailed Denver (hail, lightning, winds - good stuff). It never touched Red Rocks - just blew right by as the Whigs finished and KOL was setting up.... I maybe felt 5 rain drops. Throughout the show there was lightning out on the horizon and fit very well with the Kings' own stage light show. It was quite amazing. When they played Charmer, I swear it appeared as if the lighting was choreographed. Glad to have seen this show. Still - bring back Trani !
