Got back this morning at half 1, brilliant weekend. I was working 12 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday, but got to see the Kings on Friday. I got paid for the work I did as well, so I basically got paid to go see Kings of Leon haha.
R.e. the guitar smashing, I kinda couldn't believe what I was seeing. He definitely repeatedly smashed it into Nathan's drums, while Nathan was still playing so he didn't look too chuffed. Up until the point when he messed up the words in Manhattan Caleb was in a great mood. Saying stuff like he wanted to have a drink with us all, and said we didn't frown upon drinking or something, then he downed his wine haha.
Crowd was massive and generally quite good. I stood further back as I was too late to get into the golden circle, and I wanted a kinda overall view, and everyone was singing along where I was. Only thing was the woah ohs in Knocked Up were crap, but I think that's been the general consensus everywhere lately?
And I didn't get backstage
I phoned the woman on the Friday, I was trying to time it using certain Twitter updates haha, and she said Friday was her busiest day. She said she'd get me in on the Saturday, but I worked all day so that plan went out the window. Not too fussed though.
Overall it was a great weekend, and I actually had a lotta fun working there. I was at the bar up at the Slam tent and it was crazy busy on Sunday for a good 4 hours. Heard some pretty funny things from drunk folk haha.
