i think i read that review the show must have been just before the liverpool gig which was just at the end of oct 04 i think, with the mooney supporting. i was hoping for a review of liverpool, but there was just the one of newcastle. i think the whole review was just slagging off the "groupies"! I had it somewhere but must have gotten rid when i cleared out my room not long ago. No not that show, it was later than '04. I wonder if they're going to announce anymore dates on the new tour?? Seems fairly short & random to be limited to those dates & venues.

Oooh, I can't remember actually.... It was a place that had a balcony lol (nothing like specifics!). Sel, can you remember??! Wasn't it the same night we challenged Jared about the dreaded English girls comment? And fainting girl. And flashing girl! your on about the city hall gig in newcastle july 05, they played 2 dates...i think some lasses off of here came up to us at that gig, trying to get the security to let them hang around the front row with us?? that gig was awesome...i remember half way through their mates stated danicng in front of me and ny mates (we had front row centre tickets)...it was seatign so you could dance in your spce but no where else...and the security started shouting at the bands mates to go away and that they were scaring us (they totaly wernt, we just left them too it, its a gig after all!!!!) and then the band stopped playing, and started shouting at the security to leave the guys, and saying to us, 'they arent scaring you are they, theyre not bothering you?' etc etc ..was soooo awesome. i remember before the gig we were chatting to some scottish lass too...dunno who she was oh man that was an awesome gig...got to meet them after which was great ( not that thats anything special compared to half the people on here meting/seeing/backstage them shit loads of times) but it was pretty awesome for us

Oh shit yeah!! That was defo my fave time. The time in Secco I can't remember as Sarah kept buying us rather expensive wine from the bar hehe! I remember being sick in the loo's...... and those lads that morag was talking about, one of them was so wasted didn't he just randomly fall off a seat for no reason or something?
I dunno, anyway I really enjoyed both gigs, although I remember the City Hall gig better, being on the balcony seats & that. There was one newcastle gig I remember as being amazing, with all the lights & shadow effects & stuff, they were incredible! Really set off the songs, if that makes sense.
Sorry, they all blur into one after a while & too much alcohol....

Mmmm, maybe I shouldn't have said anything to start with!
What happened was, we were just hanging out & chatting, none of us were even drunk when the NME journalist was there, & it was a very nice evening over all. Then when we read the review that the NME did of the actual gig, they mentioed us at the party afterwards and called us 'groupies'. Sel's point was that we knew they meant us because aswell as the NME journalist being there (with some blonde waif of a girl), we were the only girls there.
This is because apparently you can't actually be speaking to the band as female fans without actually wanting to shag them.
Does that make sense?

im not being rude...but i am curious...how do many of you afford to like buy tickets for most of a tour, and then the cost of following the band around to each venue??

Does that make sense? if im thinking of the right review it was very obvious. in that he had obviously done no journalism at all that night and had just got home and thought the kings are known for groupies that will do for the review. and got the whole thing totally wrong, i dont think he actually wrote anything about the actually gig in the review, but it was a long time ago so maybe im wrong.
