Partly. It's not known yet where (or when) the gig will be held, but a mail from KOL.com mentioned that the band will be announcing a one-off 2012 show soon. Of course there are a lot of summer festivals around Europe, but it could also be Bonnaroo (which I guess are all sold out already). OR they could just do a show of their own, which would be a better bet, and fairer to the fans, imo. Anyway, if you want to keep up to date with accurate information, I suggest you follow CloserToKOL on Twitter and/or tumblr, cos Lyanne always keeps a tab on things.

Oh yeah, I just assumed it was in the UK 'cause it was from kingsofleonUK and I saw the 'UK' bit :\ I follow CTKOL on twitter, tumblr and facebook, but I got excited and wanted to post this here without looking into it too much. My bad. Super excited though ^^

And my bad thinking they'd posted it would be in the UK.

I have a pretty stong feeling it's gonna be in my living room. And my intuition has never let me down so far

The email came from the Fan Club--no mention of location. Some people speculated that it might be the Olympics? I imagine it will be something fairly 'exclusive' and not just a plain old gig.

Good thing I know where you live, Clara, so I'll see you there..! The Olympics would be a bit odd. They've already assigned a band/artist per country for the Olympic gig, what part of the UK would KOL have to represent?

I wish they'd put us out our misery either way! I'm trying not to get my hopes up about a UK gig but even if it isn't at least there will hopefully be fresh youtube footage to keep us going!

Another reason the Olympics are somewhat questionable, is cos it's not long after Lily's due-date. If she's late, the baby would only be days old when the Olympics start and I wonder if Caleb could tear himself away from his new family so soon. And I don't know if they'd travel across the pond for a one-off gig. I mean, they've done it before but obviously their (personal) situation has changed since.

My five cents:
Bonnaroo and Olympics are out of the picture if you ask me cause of Lily's due date. As is any gig outside US in the summer if you ask me. So I am thinking gig will defo be in the US (also cause they had to cancel tour).
Sooooo in the US ... if its a festival it can really only be Lolla, Outside Lands or Austin City Limits - all have announced lineup aleady but not stage times so could still be possible. Lolla is the biggest of them. IF its a festival I am hoping for Lolla - guess I am a little biased though as I already have Lolla tickets LOL.
Could it be they do a show on their own? Cant see them doing a single show in a big stadium after the US tour cancellation - seems too risky. So I think they will do something smallish and exclusive maybe in Nashville or New York ... which would suck (the exclusive part) cause I bet it will be impossible to get tickets (especially for NON US peeps).
I'd rather like to think its gonna be a festival. Whatever ... I hope we get news soon! I wanna book my overseas fligh but will rather wait till something is announced as I am still hoping that there is a small chance I could make it since going to the US anyway for 3 weeks this summer!
Waaaaaaaa! I hate waiting!

I disagree with the festival idea, b/c all the headliners for all the festivals in the US are already assigned and where are they suddenly going to squeeze KOL?
I think it will be something more along the lines of a benefit-type concert or something like a tribute.

^ I suppose Brazil is a bit too far south for you, isn't it? For those who don't know yet, KOL will be playing at Planeta Terra in Brazil, October 20th. Hope there'll be a live stream of the festival. Fingers crossed for maybe one or two new songs too.
