I definitely don't mean them. It's just nice to indulge in fantasy world sometimes.
I have Christmas Day off but work Eve & Boxing. It's not like I do that many hours really, it's just I don't socialise all that well. Sinterklaas? Is that a similar event?

Maybe you should take up writing? How many hours do you generally work? Yup, Sinterklaas is pretty much the same; Santa Claus is even derived from it!

Sadly my talent for writing stories ended with primary school. Over a decade of writer's block. How's yours going at the mo? I work 35 hours a week, but it always feels longer. Probably because it's shifts. Mixture of early and late. That would explain why it kinda sounded like Santa Claus when I tried pronouncing it out loud

Oh that's a shame, it could be a nice hobby.
35 hours isn't too bad, but I do suppose shifts would throw you off. I suppose you don't really get into a routine that way. And more difficult to arrange things with friends.
Yea it totally sounds alike. It was Coca Cola that gave Santa the big belly & suit with boots, cos the original Santa just had a red robe. Sinterklaas is like a wise old man, who's strict, while Santa is much more jovial.

Exactly. Plus, a couple of my friends have children now which makes things tough too. But I guess that's growing up. Oh right. They say you learn something new everyday, and I just did . Ever thought about becoming a teacher?

Yea when friends start to have kids, things definitely become more complicated! All my friends have kids, so I know what that's like!
I've done some voluntary work as a 'teacher'; I tried to learn an old man English (by making him read Harry Potter in English & explaining what he'd read. It actually worked pretty well). He was 78 when we got to know each other. Unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago. He was lovely. And when I still worked, I was always the one to guide new people, because of my clear explaining skills and patience.

Aww, that's so sweet. I'm sorry you lost your friend. I'm sure he appreciated your efforts. Seeing the little twinkle in an older person's eyes when they realise they're learning something new is a pretty special moment.
Do you still do your radio show?

His eyes twinkled most of the time. I miss him.
Not at the moment, but I'll probably start again in the new year. Maybe at both stations, dunno yet. I'm officially still recovering from surgery.

Hey Denise, there's some info about their heritage in this thread: happyalone.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=band&action=display&thread=9947And Jared tweeted earlier this year about having Welsh roots. I don't feel like going through all his tweets to find it again, but I'm pretty sure he was talking about where the name came from. If memory serves me right, he also said it was originally Followell, but that doesn't really make a difference imo, cos they pronounce it as such anyway. Thanks so much Erin!!
